Most people think the Public Works Department picks up trash and mows the grass; but we do so much more. Here is our Top 10!

  1. Trash pick up:
    • Residential on Tuesdays Wednesdays (View map of pickup location.)
    • Commercial on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
    • Recyclables the third Thursday each month
  2. Chip limb daily.
  3. Cut and clean all Town property, including, but not limited to:
    • Town Hall
    • Town Square and Historic Wall
    • Lots owned by the Town
    • All Town Sidewalks
  4. Clean main roads of leaves.
  5. Pick up litter along all streets.
  6. Clean and maintain all building facilities including Town Hall, Police & Fire Departments, Town Gym, Concession Stands and Crest Building.
  7. Cut, clean, refurbish and maintain all outdoor Athletic facilities, including Dixie Youth Ball fields, Softball fields, Soccer fields, Tennis Courts, and Basketball Courts. Prepare ball fields (dragging and lining) for play during the season.
  8. Clean and maintain all parks, including the Playground, the Walking Trail at Dixie Youth, and the newly refinished one mile Rail Trail. Clear land around Slade Lake for the new Walking Trail now in progress.
  9. Display and remove nearly 10,000 Christmas lights.
  10. Mosquito spraying twice weekly from May to September, and on site mosquito inspections as requested.
